The defence in the sex crimes trial of former Pretoria advocate Cezanne Visser closed its case in the North Gauteng High Court on Thursday.

Visser is accused of sexually abusing several women and girls together with her former lover Dirk Prinsloo.

Prinsloo skipped bail in 2006 but was arrested in Belarus last week after a failed bank robbery.

The sex crimes trial was postponed to August when final arguments will start.

Over the past few months, Visser's lawyers painted a picture of an innocent virgin, corrupted by a controlling manipulative pervert.

They used Battered Woman Syndrome as a defence arguing Visser was completely under Prinsloo's control and had no mind of her own but the State argues that she knew what she was doing and followed Prinsloo's instructions because they suited her.
