Gauteng police have stated that the culpable homicide case being built against Bafana Bafana player Bryce Moon could be a lengthy process.

Police are still awaiting Moon's blood test results which will reveal whether or not he was drunk when he knocked down 25-year-old Mavis Ncube in Sandton last Monday.

She died at the Morningside Medi-Clinic after paramedics claimed they battled to find a state hospital that would admit her.

Ncube's family said they wanted to know why Moon had not been arrested.

Her uncle Tinus Mpofu said: "If somebody has done something wrong that is murder. So he has to be arrested and tell us exactly what is happening."

The police's Eugene Opperman said Moon has not been charged because officers were trying to build a case against him.
