A taxi driver?s been shot dead in Modderfontein Road in Kempton Park, in Ekurhuleni.

It is alleged the occupants of a white VW Golf chased after his minibus and fired several shots on the driver?s side of the vehicle.

The taxi driver lost control and crashed before he got out of the vehicle and fled on foot.

Ten passengers were treated for minor injuries but the driver was found dead on Saturday morning with a gunshot wound.

The police's Manyadza Ralidzhivha explained that the driver was found in a pit, an estimated 100m away from where the taxi was found on Friday but authorities are unsure whether or not the incident may be linked to taxi violence.
