ANC Youth League (ANCYL) president Julius Malema, the African National Congress delegation and the Freedom Front Plus met in Orania in the Northern Cape on Saturday.

Malema is visiting the white Afrikaner enclave as part of his ANC electioneering drive in the Northern Cape this weekend.

Malema, who arrived in Orania early on Saturday, patiently stood and talked with Orania representatives and the media at the local filling station while waiting for the ANC delegation to arrive.

The ANCYL president told the chief executive of the Orania movement Frans de Klerk that they (the ANC delegation) wanted a tour of the town to "understand the environment".

While waiting at the filling station, many ANCYL members took photos of their comrade in front of the Orania logo and signage written "welkom in die Afrikaner tuiste (welcome in the Afrikaner home)".

The photos were taken by cellphone.

Another group examined the local currency, a ten Ora, which is the equivalent of a R10 note.

The ANC group, with an Orania representative in each vehicle then went for a tour of Orania.

The procession ended at the auditorium, where it was met by Carel Boshoff senior and ANC chairman in the Northern Cape John Block for closed door discussions.
