More than 16 000 South Africans living abroad will be voting in their respective cities next week, including several thousand in London.

Henry le Riche, who lives and works in London, says the NPA's decision to drop the charges against Jacob Zuma is embarrassing.

He adds that what the country needs is a stronger opposition. Le Riche believes many expats in London think the Congress of the Peaople could take away the ANC's two-thirds majority.

"If they get a good opposition… there could still be the hope of a possible regime change still in my lifetime. You know, that's what I'm personally hoping," says le Riche.

Another South African, Johan Fourie, who lives in New Zealand, says everyone there is very excited to vote on the 15 April.

"I think with the current situation in South Africa, everyone hopes for a new beginning," says Fourie.
