Parliament's Chief Financial Officer Leslie Mondo has been sacked.

Mondo was dismissed following an investigation into alleged financial misconduct.

The probe also involved the Secretary of Parliament, Zingile Dingani.

The disciplinary hearing against Mondo found him guilty on four counts of financial misconduct.

He was initially charged with five such counts.

Dingani was advanced R186 000 by Mondo to build a wall around his house.

The auditor-general's office was asked to look into the matter.

The probe was concluded last week and now the recommendations have been enforced, with Mondo having been dismissed.

Dingani's disciplinary process is still ongoing.
