document.write("Perverse.<br />Under colonial & apartheid rule the lives of Africans was ####; under independent rule the lives of Africans is ####.<br /><br />Has nothing changed?<br /><br />In the last 14 yrs, the ANC has made progress in supplying water, sanitation & electricity to millions that never had it. Lets not throw the baby out with the bathwater.<br /><br />But there are just so many desperately poor & uneducated people in SA, and that is a failing of the government. <br /><br />The poor simply have to move to the cities because the rural areas are neglected by the state and to make things worse, local chief  to get rid of 'surplus' people so that his area does not suffer.<br /><br />These 'surplus', almost unusable people have to squat on land somewhere, which puts unsustainable pressure on the natural environment and municipal infrastructure.   <br /><br />Raw sewerage is spilling into our water system. No surprise about fatal diseases breading there but this also threatens our agricultural sufficiency. <br /><br />I hope the government is up to it.  . Peter1");

document.write("In case people are not aware, there is a constant flow of raw sewerage into the Vaal river from the Emfuleni Council. So forget about the Limpopo river the enviromental damage and consequences are far greater on our own doorstep.
