The reality is that he actually does not care about anything or anybody. The whole aim for the past 10 years (and that has been the reason for shabir shaik's bankrolling of Zuma) has purely been to get him in to the seat of President. When it happens it will be payback time and we are in for the biggest corruption scandals ever in this country. I mean we might have Shabir for minister of finance (sorry should probably rather be appointed minister of corruption? - at least then the title would be suitable)

Lekota is so out of touch with reality, he has even forgotten that the people who really put the ANC in govt do not even have electricity, do not aspire to own a pc, cannot buy a newspaper for R5-00 which can buy a locally baked loaf of bread. He is the main reason the ANC has factions, if he as Chairperson did not mislead Thabo Mbeki, with the garbage that ''The branches want you to lead the ANC for another 10years''. We would not be having divisions. He caused divisions in Free State, and campaigned using tribalist behaviour to be elected Chairperson under Mbeki, in Polokwane he unsucessfully tried to suppress delegates in the conference floor, & that backfired miserably. For Comical Ali Mluleki George, he is an equal embarrasment if not worse. He unsucesfully tried to be Eastern Cape chairperson, and eventually settled to be Amathole Regional Chairperson, in evry municipality where George was deployed to mediate he entrenched the divisions by siding with one faction istead of bringing the factions together (Ngqushwa, Nkonkobe, Mnquma, Mbashe, Buffalo City, Amahlathi, Nxuba, Makana) all these Eastern Cape ANC controlled municipalities have factions, the common denominator ''Comical Ali George''. He misled Mbeki to think the branches want Mbeki as President, the end result, an embarassment of the decade, a sitting ANC President & Head of State gets a vote of no-confidence. Thabo will probably never forgive Lekota & George for leading him to such an embarassment. Mbeki was a great statesman, he did not deserve the rejection he suffered even though it was a last chance to stop him from becoming a monotonous life president who disputes HIV scientific research without going to the lab, and dismisses STATS SA's unemployment and poverty statistics without conducting another research.. You can't better a person's living standard by giving them an inflation related increase, because the higher the increase you give them, the higher inflation will be! The only way to get a decent salary or wage for people is by eradicating joblessness and increasing producitivity. When there's more jobs then people looking for jobs, salaries will go higher. The more people working, the more people spending, so you DON'T have to push up prices, if anything they will come down, since more people are buying your products, you need to sell less to pay the same the rent at the end of the month.. ");
document.write("This split is the best thing for democracy in this country in half a century. Yes, we became \"democratic\" in 1994 because everyone could vote, but we were voted right into socialism. And Zuma is a majour socialist.
Lekota at least have some good basic principles to lead the country with. Zuma is far to indebted by other factions who won't hesitate to claim their pound of flesh and we the tax payer will be paying his debts.
With this split in the ANC, their majourity hold on our votes will hopefully fail and other parties like the DA will actually stand a chance to do more for this country.
I respect the noble motives with which the ANC took over SA in 94, but they have all but forgotten those ideals and have largely been corrupted by power. This is expected since they were a freedom fighting rebellion who came into the position to run a country, it never ends well. It is time that somebody else took charge with the right infrastructure and discipline.
To reply to another's comment earlier on who were not South African and asked why we can't choose a leader among us that can actually give us good international stance. The answer is that unfortunately it is not the people who wright on this blog that choose the next president, but the odd 40% of the population that can't read and doesn't really know what goes on in the politics of this country. Many of whom vote out of allegiance to the ANC. With this split the name ANC will hopefully go down the drain and people will start to look who the people are in charge, rather than what party will lead the country.
My personal opinion is that non-tax payers should not have a right to vote, since the government has a smaller effect on them and also they do not pay the salaries of the people that they vote for.. Pieter");

They are the braindead masses that got him where he is, and continue to support him no matter what obscene thing he says/does next. (not pointing fingers to the ANCYL at all here...)
