The NRTA specifically states that Police, Traffic and EMS personnel are exempted from most of the road rules when responding to an emergency or in the execution of their LAW ENFORCEMENT duties, and done with due safety to other road users. Since when is the VIP protection unit enforcing a law or responding to a life-threatening medical emergency. I have witnessed many instances where they just fly down the freeways at top speed, showing recklessness when doing so.
