The real reason is that the blacks in SA were so well looked after under the so called regime that they do not understand the concept of free and fair. The attacks on Somali shop owners for instance are as a direct result of cheaper pricing in their stores. Although controlled in both restriction of movement and civil liberties many of the older blacks who have been party to both governments would opt for the old ways. This bourne out by the number of foreign blacks who flocked to SA during the 80'S despite the apartheid structure because it was better than where they lived.
