WOW!

document.write("And he came to this conclusion after how many months? cope is nothing more than the anc by another name. The anc didn't win because they were the first choice, they won because to the ordinary man in the street (the poor and middle class) there was no alternative. What we need is a party that represents all south africans not just one racial group. Sadly this is still lacking in any of the major parties. Alwyn");

document.write("It makes no sense that he is staying on as \"an ordinary party member\" - after all, has he not accused COPE (Company Of Previous (ANC) Employees\" of \"fraud\", and still he is happy to be a member?
Think twice before you join a party disenfranchised Nostrilytes - if you want change in the country, join a party that seeks change, not one which is a rehash of an existing party, but the board of directors is only really interested in the pay packet that goes with it.. Krotekoker");

And you expect us to respect you as a potential leader? Get a life, man. Pale Native");

");
document.write("Simon, you are the fraud. What you say may be true, but what happened to being a member of a political party because you believe in their ideology and cause. Criticism is easy. You jumping ship whenever the going gets tough is just an indication that you have no cause other than your own selfish enrichment. Why not leave politics and get a job in the real world as you clearly don't know where you belong. It is a pity that more politicians don't enter politics for a cause, as opposed to a career. This is why our country is such a mess! Good riddance to a bad egg as far as I am concerned. You belong with the likes of Chabaan, McBride and their ilk. Where are you going to pop up next? Heaven help them.. Andrew");

document.write("As others have said, it seems Simon Grindrod views politics largely as a self-service career rather than an opportunity to participate in change.
He jumped ship at the first sign of trouble at the ID - the same party that was only too happy to cozy-up to the ANC in Cape Town despite it being abundantly clear that this is not what their electorate wanted. Then he goes and joins COPE - the \"ANC Lite\" of SA politics, the Mbeki camp that he has spent so much time criticising in the past.
If Simon Grindrod can't be bothered to ride out the tough times and strive to make meaningful changes in a system that he perceives to be broken, how can he expect people to vote for him again. He seems to be missing the whole point about being an elected representative - he's there to serve, to do something other than feather his own nest.
Merely throwing his toys out of the cot - as he is doing by complaining but not getting off his #### and fomenting change - leaves him in much the same place as the average South African: we all complain but do nothing. The difference is that by standing for election, he intimated that he was prepared to do something.
Give it up, Simon. Go home and bitch at the tv/paper/talk radio like the rest of us, it seems that's all you're good for. . flim");
