PAY THEM DECENT SALARIES!
");
document.write("I dont support the strike, but these Docters work long and hard hours and provide an essential service to the communities. The ANC Government must get their priorities right.If they can spend vast amounts on Soccer Stadiums, Gauteng Train, Inaugaration of the President/parties and financially raping the state coffers, then they can pay these Doctors a decent wage. . document.write("I am a striking doctor , sure part of it is about the money after all I have the ability to go overseas and make a decent amount - 3 days work in some cases equals 1 months salary in the state . However it isnt about the money for me it is about the loss of skills due to working conditions . I go to work to do a better job each day but each day I end up frustrated by the lack of simple things like no alcohol swabs for injections , no spinal needles for anaesthesia , no drugs to treat TB and RVD . No sterile packs to do C sections, no beds for patients no linen. Those departments in charge dont work > They dont work because management doesnt work and management doesnt work because they dont see the sick people who it effects - they sit behind a computer and still use the CD drive to put their coffee on . They are clueless because they are usually not medically trained or trained at all, they just want the easy job and never realize that it effects those who actually work with those tools . They do not even know how many doctors are employed by the state so I guess when we all went to management 3 months ago to hand in our IDs again that they havent counted us. Sure bring in cheaper doctors from other countries to solve the problems but this seems to be the governments attitude but dont you think the people of South Africa deserve South African doctors and dont you think South African doctors deserve to give their patients the best possible treatment ? We were once on top of the medical pile after the first heart transplant now we are labeled as uncaring and evil for striking, but it is the governments fault for trying to fix things on the cheap - pay sh-- get sh--. We havnt closed Emergency services so we still treat the life threatening and very sick. The majority of my class of 1998 are not in the country but the majority want to be here. It is about time we stood up and said no more , the government is destroying the very system that keeps its voters alive. There is no real change on offer just another smoke screen with a new red carpet to quickly sweep the remains of what will be left. I suppose we cannot blame government after all everything is just an ACT and the sick and the dead people are just numbers to them. . bruce");

Why are the labour laws differnet for doctors??
The Government have dragged there feet over the matter. The Goverment are the CAUSE of the present problem.. Chris P");

My only question now is , after years of berating the government uphill and downdale for its incompetence in the hospitals why are they not shouting your side of the story from the rooftops. But then I suppose I'm deluded to think the media would ever be able to take and hold a position of morality.. Carolyn");
