First a man with over 700 charges of fraud and corruption against him gets them swept under the carpet and elected to high office despite a total lack of credentials. Now the man who tried to influence other judges not to prosecute this man looks to be elected Chief Justice. I always believed the strength of a country lay in the fact that its judicial system was separate from government and impartial. Please God we do not slide into the mess we are seeing in almost every African country where the rule of law simply does not exist. The very basis of civilisation lies in the impartiality of the judiciary. Laws formulated over thousands of years by various civilisations cannot be simply swept aside without grave consequences for everybody. Butthis is where Hlophe is heading.. DAL");
