Members of the Revolutionary Youth Movement of Zimbabwe are expected to march to the Union Buildings in Pretoria on Friday in protest against the political impasse in that country.

"The protest is about the situation in Zimbabwe, the peace deal has stalled. Nothing is moving," said the civic organisation's president Simon Mudekwa.

Zimbabwe is yet to distribute cabinet posts following last month's historic power-sharing deal between president Robert Mugabe and his Movement for Democratic Change (MDC) counterpart Morgan Tsvangirai.

The posts were to be distributed between Mugabe's Zanu-PF party, Tsvangirai's MDC as well as the MDC faction.

Once at the Union Building the group was expected to hand a petition to the presidency. It calls, among other things, for speeding up the process to create a new democratic constitution.
