A 21-year-old man has been arrested after the decomposed body of his alleged 51-year-old male lover was found at his home in East Lynne in Pretoria, the SABC reported on Monday.

Inspector Klaas van der Kooi says the body was found after family members of the pensioner became worried when they did not hear from him for a few days.

The man allegedly died of injuries to his head.

Van der Kooi says police followed up information gathered at the scene and arrested the 21-year-old.

The deceased's silver BMW was found in the suspect's possession.

He will appear in court on Tuesday.
