A church leader who admitted to raping two of his daughters and sexually assaulting another has been sentenced to an effective 18 years in jail.
The Grassy Park father admitted to his guilt in the Wynberg Magistrates Court earlier this week.
His name will also be placed on the national register for sexual offenders.
The man, who has six daughters, admitted to raping two of the girls, aged 11 and 15, on separate occasions last year and this year.
The 41-year-old also admitted to sexually assaulting another daughter in 2009, when she was 11 years old.
After reaching a plea agreement with state prosecutors, he was sentenced to 20 years on each count of rape, with two years of each sentence suspended on condition he does not reoffend. He was given a three-year sentence for the sexual assault, which was suspended for five years.
The court heard how the children had suffered severe mental stress and trauma over the years.
