JOHANNESBURG - The South African National Blood Service (SANBS) is running out of stock, due to lot of people who need blood donations this festive season.
The organisation says it currently has about two and a half days’ worth of blood that can be donated to people.
SANBS has called on people to donate blood in order to save lives.
The chief operations officer Ravi Reddy says: “We expect to be under severe pressure over the next two weeks, with people being on leave, donors not donating and a decrease in blood with the road accidents. We would appreciate if all our regular donors could please donate at the clinics.”
