The Limpopo Health Department says it hopes the Limpopo High Court will rule in its favour on its interdict against pastors who use potentially poisonous substances on their congregants.
The matter is set to be heard later this month after Pastor Lethebo Rabalago of Mountzion General Assembly Church sprayed doom on his congregants, claiming the insect killer is harmless when used in faith.
At the same time another pastor Prophet Rufus Phala told his congregation to drink Dettol detergent for the healing of sicknesses.
He said the antiseptic was anointed and is capable of healing various illnesses.
Health MEC spokesperson Thabiso Tefo says, “The system in the province is overburdened and if we’re unable to prevent matters like these we might not be able to treat these people when they contract various diseases.”
