Three Mozambican men are due to appear in court on Tuesday on charges of rhino poaching in the North West.
The suspects were arrested this past Sunday at a private game reserve in Mokopong, after being tracked down by some good detective work.
Police were called to the farm after a rhino was found dead, with both of its horned removed.
“The police together with Game Rangers started to track the suspects by following the vehicle tyre marks,” says Brigadier Sabata Mokgwabone. “The effort became successful when the team spotted the suspects' vehicle.”
The men were caught in possession of the poached horns. Their arrest has been commended by the North West Provincial Commissioner, Lieutenant General Baile Motswenyane.
