Bromwell Street residents on the brink of losing their homes in Woodstock are hoping for a positive outcome next time they face the City of Cape Town in court.
The case between more than two dozen residents, the City and property developers, The Woodstock Hub, will come before the Western Cape High Court next Tuesday.
The Hub has been in an ongoing legal battle with the residents since acquiring the property in 2013.
Resident and spokesperson Charnell Commando says they're hoping the court will order the City to provide residents with alternative accommodation in or near the Salt River or Woodstock area.
“It must be as near as possible because of schools and shops. We just want our children to be safe and near to everything.”
