VUWANI – Some Vuwani protesters are jeering the police while jumping on and off a police nyala.
Hundreds of residents have gathered at the Sibudi Bus Stop, their starting point for their march to the municipal offices.
Protesters are demanding that their demarcation dissatisfaction be addressed.
They say government is allowing the delivery of basic services under the new municipality incorporated with Malamulele, which they are against.
As more and more protesters arrive, some jeer police and protest leaders have intervened, defusing tensions.
Despite the rain demonstrators remain spirited, singing and chanting as they prepare to march on municipal offices.
Earlier, security was stepped up as police and authorities worked to avoid any structural damages, like in 2016.
Thirty schools were either torched or vandalised in the area during a three-month long protest over demarcation last year.
