Gauteng police say they are following various leads in connection with a shooting which left a security guard and a passerby dead in Soweto.
It’s understood the two and four other civilians who have been seriously wounded were caught in the cross fire of a battle between rival taxi operators.
Two taxi owners were also shot and wounded in that shoot out.
In a separate incident, three taxi bosses were shot and killed in the area last week in what’s believed to also be taxi related violence.
The police’s Kay Makhubele says, “The suspects in the Soweto taxi shooting have not been arrested as yet and we’re still in manhunt and we’ll be giving all the information regarding the incident as soon as we’ve details.”
