The accused for the murder of Karabo Mokoena, Sandile Mantsoe, is expected to appear before the Johannesburg Magistrates Court to be handed the verdict surrounding his bail application.
Mantsoe, who burned and dumped the body of 22-year-old Mokoena in a park in Lyndhurst after killing her, will find out whether his trial will continue with him behind bars or not.
Friends and acquaintances of Mantsoe have described him as calm and religiously devout man.
It is understood that a case of assault had been opened against him by Mokoena prior to their ending a long-term relationship and a week before her death.
Mantsoe’ trial has been deemed too sensitive for broadcast given that the victim’s body was burnt beyond recognition.
