The University of Cape Town (UCT)'s Sexual Assault Response Team (SART) says it will offer support to a student that's been sexually assaulted allegedly by two SRC members.
The SRC has suspended both students after one allegedly raped a female student, and the other sexually harassed her.
The council has also divulged the names of both members on its Facebook page.
UCT management has expressed concern over the names being made public saying it is "contrary to the principle of fairness and justice and may actually interfere with the legal proceedings."
In a statement, the SART says it's fully committed to monitoring the progress of the case and will support the survivor and other affected parties.
UCT's Elijah Moholola said, “UCT will pursue this matter through the formal legal channels and appropriate action will be taken in accordance with the university’s code of conduct.”
