Most of the political parties in the National Assembly have made the deadline to make their submissions on the secret ballot in a vote of no confidence against President Jacob Zuma.
The Speaker's Officer has confirmed receipt of the submissions, showing most of the parties are requesting the vote be done in secret.
The African National Congress and the Democratic Alliance have indicated they will abide by Speaker Baleka Mbete's decision.
Some opposition parties said they have also requested Mbete to recuse herself from presiding over the debate saying she lacks impartiality.
Parliament's Moloto Mothapo says the Speaker will announce her decision before the vote on 8 August.
“The speaker had given political parties in the National Assembly until 14 July to provide her with their preferred voting procedure when dealing with the motion of no confidence on 8 August. There are about nine out of 13 parties that have responded by close of business on Friday.”
