An 11-year-old boy killed by a stray bullet in Kensington, in Cape Town, was laid to rest Friday morning.
The friends and family of Ruben September gathered at the Kensington Church to bid farewell to the boy after he was gunned down near his home last week.
It's understood September was caught in the crossfire of gang violence just meters from his home in the Kukutown Informal Settlement last week.
No arrests have yet been made.
Meanwhile, the Kensington Community Policing Forum has reiterated a call for adequate policing following the grade 4 learner's death.
The area has been hit by a spate of gang related shootings over the past few weeks.
