The trial of triple murder accused, Henri van Breda resumed in the Western Cape High Court on Monday with live-streaming from the courtroom soon to be available.
The trial entered a period of hiatus to allow Van Breda’s defence team to contest the live-streaming application in the Supreme Court of Appeal.
However, the contestation was unsuccessful and Judge Siraj Desai allowed unmanned, stationary cameras to live stream proceedings.
The cameras will also stop recording once the accused’s sister Marli van Breda takes the stand to testify.
Van Breda is accused of brutally murdering his parents and older brother with an axe at their De Zalze home in Stellenbosch in January 2015.
The 22-year-old has been on trial since the beginning of this year.
