The State’s final witness in the Henri van Breda murder trial has stated that the accused’s father was potentially caring for his eldest son when he was attacked and killed.
Blood splatter expert, Marius Joubert, told the court that Martin van Breda could have been attending to the wounds suffered by eldest son Rudi, when he was in turn attacked.
The evidence presented by Joubert further indicates the mother, Teresa, was attacked while standing in the doorway of her sons' room.
The defence maintains that a balaclava-clad attacker entered the family’s De Zalze estate home and killed the accused’s family.
Trial is scheduled to continue tomorrow.
