Ten days since the massive copper cable theft which occurred in parts of the Johannesburg CBD and the city has still been unable to fully restore electricity to all affected residents.
Among the unlucky bunch are both business and residential properties who will have to make do without power for at least another day.
The cable theft, which plunged the city into darkness, is estimated to have cost the metro millions to repair.
City Power's Sol Masolo says that technicians worked throughout the night and have restored electricity to almost all affected areas.
“We still have problems with Carlton Centre and Pritchard Street which we hope to sort out before the end of the day as well. But the majority of Johannesburg is back on.”
