Following the cabinet reshuffle by President Jacob Zuma earlier this week, EFF leader Julius Malema says the country should not rule out another reshuffle which would see presidential hopeful Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma step into a cabinet position.
Malema was speaking at a press conference when he expressed his thoughts on the second reshuffle exacted by the president in less than 6 months.
The move, however, was not unexpected as opposition party’s felt that Dlamini-Zuma’s recent appointment as an MP would in turn prompt a reshuffling of roles.
Malema pointed out that although Buti Manamela has been appointed as Deputy Higher Education Minister, no mention has been made of who will replace him as Minister in the Presidency.
“Buti’s place has not been replaced. I think it is being reserved for madam (Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma). They are just not courageous enough. When the time permits, they’ll put madam into the position”, explained Malema.
At the same time, Malema says that the decision to move David Mahlobo from State Security Minister to Energy Minister is clearly aimed at securing a nuclear deal with Russia.
