Security has tightened up at a Cape Town hospital where a notorious gang leader is being treated.
Jerome Booysen and another man were wounded in a shooting at Cape Town International Airport earlier this week.
The gang leader was shot multiple times in an apparent hit and is said to be in a critical condition.
Reliable sources have revealed that security is blocking the entrance to Booysen's hospital room at a medical facility that should have remained unknown to the general public.
However, it is now believed that the facility he is being treated at has become known, putting him in danger of suffering further attempts on his life.
There are now talks to move Booysen to a different hospital.
He is said to be in a bad state, with his current medical condition being described as "weak".
Meanwhile, the suspects who were behind the hit on Booysen's life are still at large.
