A landmark case will appear before the Constitutional Court on Tuesday morning as two people, dubbed the dagga couple, make their argument for legalising marijuana.
Myrtle Clarke and Julian Stobbs have been trying for years to have the use, cultivation and distribution of dagga legalised.
They believe that it is irrational for the plant to be classified illegal when alcohol is freely available for purchase and use by adults.
A High Court ruled in their favour but they want a court to instruct Parliament to make new laws to reflect this.
Today they will join a similar Constitutional Court case that began in the Western Cape High Court.
