A three-year-old girl wounded in a gang shooting in Elsies River is on the mend.
The little girl was hit in the face by a stray bullet last week.
A gangster was killed in the gun battle.
The little girl is in a stable condition and will undergo further surgery this week.
Western Cape Community Safety MEC Dan Plato says that the incident is yet another reminder of how gangs continue to run amok.
“The ongoing shootings is a nightmare on the Cape Flats. That is why I, together with Premier Helen Zille and the entire Western Cape cabinet, support the deployment of the army. It is clear to me that the people of Elsies River are so traumatised.”
