South African Police Services in Queenstown have begun a massive manhunt for 10 gunmen who undertook a rampage at the local police station killing 5 officers and injuring others.
The Ngcobo Police Station was a war-zone early this morning when gunmen opened fire for what has remained an unclear motive.
The SAPS have reported that weapons were stolen from the officers and that investigations have begun with the utmost priority.
"All our support structures are currently on the scene. We have also tasked a special team to comb the area to search for these criminals who gunned down our police”, says SAPS spokesperson Michelle Matroos. “During the day we will follow up on information and we request the community to assist us with leads that will lead to the arrest of these criminals."
