The latest talk of more senior members leaving the ANC is nothing but cheap rumour-mongering, the organisation's provincial working committee in KwaZulu-Natal said on Monday.
"The ANC rejects with contempt rumours flying around of any of our members leaving the organisations now or in the future," it said in a statement.
The PWC said people had the right to leave the organisation and join a party of their choice. However, it said, the rumours were a cheap attempt to sow divisions amongst ANC members and the leadership.
"As the ANC in KwaZulu-Natal we remain united and won't be destabilised by these rumours."
It said the rumours affected those members fingered as wanting to leave the party and had brought undue pressure to their families and loved ones.
The PWC said it had confidence in all ANC members and was even more confident that none of the MECs would resign.
