An elderly Eldorado Park woman was mauled to death by her Pitbull terriers on Tuesday afternoon, Johannesburg police said.

Captain Phillemon Khorombi said the two dogs attacked the 74-year-old woman in her yard around 2pm.

"It seems the dogs were very angry, but we don't really have more information as to how the incident happened."

An inquest docket was opened.
