Cases of culpable homicide and vehicle theft against a man accused of killing five people in a crash while travelling the wrong way down the M1 was postponed in the Randburg Magistrate's Court on Wednesday.
Siyabonga Miaka will appear again on 1 December following a review of his bail application. Miaka was wearing a neck brace during his appearance in court and also seemed to have slightly swollen cheeks, apparently sustained in the accident earlier this month. He allegedly stole the Toyota Condor he was driving, allegedly down the wrong side of the highway, when it hit a vehicle carrying employees of the Manhattan nightclub. Killed in the crash were: Ntsundzukani Mabasa, Wisani Maswanganyi, Faith Moyo, Solly Ngomane and Elvis Ritshuri. Three passengers travelling with Miaka were injured.
