Electricity was cut off across Mafikeng in the North West after a fire erupted at a sub-station on Saturday afternoon, reported the SABC.
The news station said most residential areas and businesses were affected.
Some robots in main streets were also not functioning.
By Saturday night, SABC said it was still not clear when power would be restored to the area.
