Seven Carleton Jones pupils died after their minibus taxi overturned in Potchefstroom, North West police said on Monday.
Inspector Sam Tselanyane said the pupils were going to a matric farewell after party on Sunday when their taxi overturned around 5pm. "The driver lost control of the taxi and it rolled several times," said Tselanyane. Six of the pupils including the driver died on the scene and one pupil later died at the Potchefstroom hospital. One pupil is in critical condition while another ten 10 pupils sustained minor injuries. All the injured were taken to the Potchefstroom hospital. No one was arrested and a case of culpable homicide was opened, said Tselanyane.
