The Inkatha Freedom Party's student wing has won all seven seats in the Student Representative Council (SRC) election at the University of Zululand.
The South African Democratic Student Movement (Sadesmo) was victorious at the university on Thursday when the results were announced.
Ironically, the chancellor of the institution is ANC president Jacob Zuma.
"We are delighted to have, once again, won the trust of the student body at Unizul and we are ready to pursue our fellow students' interests for another term," Sadesmo national president Thabo Xaba said.
Sadesmo was determined to take an active part in the Zululand institution's transformation.
"Since the single biggest challenge facing our young democracy is poverty eradication, transformation of tertiary education must be focused on this very area, without compromising the pursuit of economic viability and academic excellence," he said.
Sadesmo also recently won the elections at the troubled Mangosuthu University of Technology in Umlazi.
