One of the accused in the Jeppestown massacre trial, Dineo Maleke (29), was on Monday acquitted of all charges against her.

Johannesburg High Court Judge Ratha Mokgoatleheng said there was not enough evidence to convict Maleke.

He, however, found Maleke's lover Senzo Emmanuel Mweli (26), guilty on 20 charges including aggravated robbery, attempted murder and 12 charges of murder.

Mokgoatleheng said he would rule on charges of possession of firearms and ammunition later in his judgment.

Judgment regarding the other accused was expected to be delivered after the lunch break.

Mweli was among the 11 men who were involved in a bloody shootout with police officers in Jeppestown in June 2006.

This followed a robbery at a Pick 'n Pay supermarket in Honeydew earlier that day.
