The ANC in KwaZulu-Natal is expected to hand a letter of complaint to the IEC following attacks on ANC members in Nongoma over the weekend.

Electoral officer Mawethu Mosery was expected to receive the complaint, against the Inkatha Freedom Party, from ANC provincial chairperson Dr Zweli Mkhize at 9am at the Independent Electoral Commission's office at the Westville Civic Centre in Durban.

Three ANC members, including a member of the Zulu royal family and ANC MP, Prince Zeblon Zulu, were shot just minutes after leaving the venue where a rally was held in Nongoma on Sunday. All survived.

Six other people were assaulted when buses transporting ANC supporters to the rally were hit by stones, allegedly thrown by IFP supporters.
