The case against three men accused of murdering reggae icon Lucky Dube, was on Monday postponed in the Johannesburg High Court.

The three accused from Vosloorus appeared before Judge Ndawoyakhe Tshabalala in a courtroom packed with Dube's family and friends.

The case against Sifiso Mhlanga (32), Julius Xowa (30), and Thabo Maroping (29), was postponed to 2 February 2009 for trial.

The accused face murder as well as robbery, attempted robbery and unlawful possession of firearms and ammunition charges.

Dube was killed outside his brother's house in Rosettenville, southern Johannesburg, on 18 October last year in what was believed to have been a botched hijacking.
