The IEC says Agri-Mpumalanga has managed to resolve an impasse which led to the closing down of a voter registration centre in Volksrust, the SABC reported on Sunday.

A farmer allegedly chased IEC officials from his farm where an IEC station had been set up to enable farmdwellers to register for the coming elections.

Provincial IEC Chief Electoral Officer Steve Ngwenya said the farmers' union managed to persuade the farmer to allow the IEC to conduct its business on his farm.

Ngwenya said the polling station had been opened for registration.
