Day two of judgment in the Lucky Dube murder trial was spent by the judge in recapping evidence rendered by witnesses during the trial in the High Court in Johannesburg.

Judge Seun Moshidi said he would complete his judgment by 1pm on Tuesday.

He said the state had proven beyond reasonable doubt the guilt of Sifiso Mhlanga, Julius Gxowas, and Mbuti Mabe.

The three men were arrested on 21 October, 2007, three days after a botched hijacking in which internationally acclaimed reggae musician Dube was killed in Rosettenville.

"The state has proven beyond any reasonable doubt the guilt of all three accused in terms of count four," Moshidi said.

The charge he referred to related to the hijacking of a Mercedes Benz in Jules Street, Jeppestown, days before the murder.

As he recapped the evidence, Dube's wife kept her head bowed, surrounded by Dube's children, family members and band members.

The judgment continues on Tuesday.
