Former Fidentia boss Arthur Brown appeared briefly in the Cape Town Regional Court on Tuesday.

At the request of prosecutor Jannie van Vuuren, magistrate Wilma van der Merwe postponed the matter to 13 August, the same date as the other cases Brown is involved in.

Van der Merwe quizzed Van Vuuren and Brown's attorney Rushdi Khan on progress in Brown's high court bid to have the charges against him consolidated or dropped.

Van Vuuren told her the state was trying to get that hearing "expedited".

Brown's appearance related to the Fundi and Infinity fraud and theft charges against him.

He is on bail.
