Captain Bhekizizwe Mavundla said the man was arrested on Tuesday in connection with the Denver Truck Company robbery on 5 March.
He was arrested while on his way to pick up his last salary from his security company employer after he resigned following the robbery.
Mavundla said the man had allegedly delayed reporting the robbery to his employer, which led to a case being opened late.
"According to the suspect's statement, two suspects gained entry into the premises by jumping over a fence and tied him up with a shoe lace and made him lie in the guard room," he said.
"But video footage from the premises was obtained and showed two suspects wearing balaclavas gained entry by breaking a gate lock with an unknown heavy object," Mavundla said.
The men were able to crawl through passages and even removed camera film and threw it outside the premises only for it to be picked up by other employees in the morning.
"The [arrested] suspect also alleged that he was tied up, but in the video he is seen walking around with the other suspects pretending to be handcuffed and at times forgot to keep his hands on his back."
The man had since been charged with business robbery and was expected to appear in the Johannesburg Magistrate's Court on Thursday.
Mavundla said investigations were continuing to find other suspects.
