Two men were shot dead at an Olivedale restaurant on Wednesday evening, Johannesburg paramedics said.

ER 24 spokesperson Werner Vermaak said three men who had been sitting in the restaurant began shooting at the restaurant owner and manager, fatally wounding the owner.

The restaurant manager was still alive when paramedics arrived on the scene. He had, however, sustained severe multiple injuries and was later declared dead.

Douglasdale police were on the scene, Vermaak said.

Police could not immediately provide further details on the incident.
