Two men and a woman were arrested in connection with the rape of two teenagers in Knysna, Southern Cape police said on Sunday.

Captain Malcolm Pojie said the two girls, aged 16 and 17, were on their way to a nearby shop when the uncle of one of them allegedly asked them to help him carry DVDs to his house.

When the girls entered the house, the uncle's female friend allegedly closed and locked the door behind them.

When the girls asked to leave, the woman allegedly refused.

The girls were allegedly forced to watch pornographic videos with the pair before another man and the uncle tied their hands up and covered their mouths.

The two men then allegedly undressed the girls and raped them.

Pojie said the father of one of the girls searched for them, forcing the door to the uncle's house open and rescuing them.

The father took the girls to his house and alerted the police.

"Both the victims were under stress and trauma and were taken to hospital for examination and treatment. Police arranged that they receive victim support and trauma counselling to get through this torment," Pojie said.

The two men and the woman were later arrested and would all appear in the Knysna Magistrate's Court on Tuesday.
