A building contractor from Tembisa died when he fell from the roof of a factory in Pretoria on Monday, Netcare 911 said.

Spokesperson Nick Dollman said the contractor, aged between 25 and 30, fell about 10 to 15 meters from the roof of a factory in East Side Street in Pretoria North and landed inside the factory.

"He sustained severe head and back injuries and possible internal injuries.

"Sadly there was nothing that the paramedics could do to save the man and he was declared dead on the scene," Dollman said.

The accident happened at about 12:49pm.
